Evolution on vending machine experience
How does giving importance to the coffee break
contribute to improving people’s quality of life?

Monolite, created by Simona Ghizzoni and Davide Livermore, combines the experience of drinking a coffee or a simple glass of water with a captivating photographic journey, transforming the machine itself into a digital art exhibition.

Encased in backlit glass, Monolite serves as the canvas for Simona’s striking photographs shot at the nature reserve of Tevere-Farfa. Using augmented reality technology, Monolite allows the consumer to animate a peacock portrayed in the photo while enjoying their beverage of choice. This interactive experience invites participants to immerse themselves in the emotions captured by the photographer, enriching their coffee break with a multisensory journey that seamlessly transitions from physical to digital, allowing them to escape from reality and travel through nature.

With Monolite, Rhea communicates its commitment to sustainability via innovative design, an ethos long ingrained within the company’s values. But sustainability extends beyond environmental awareness. Monolite elevates the coffee break into a moment that improves people’s quality of life, offering not only an experience centered around taste but also a platform for social engagement and entertainment.

“Together with Rhea and Davide Livermore, we created Monolite to transform that brief moment while you wait for your coffee into an interactive experience, invited by photography to reflect on the environment while enjoying an immersive journey into nature. It’s exciting to share this unlikely union of creativity, contemplation, and the simple ritual of drinking a coffee”. Simona Ghizzoni.
